WHY CHOOSE THIS SPECIALITY?

The first year marks the beginning of a process that encourages students to develop their own universe.  Punctuated by professional internships and practicals, the two semesters allow students to experiment with different artistic media and to begin making provisional choices, both in terms of technique and conceptual framework. This year allows them to explore possibilities and, gradually, to assert the way in which they wish to pursue their second year. In this sense, it is still a transition phase.

Year 1

The common curriculum in Year 1 with core modules gives a strong base of skills and knowledge while specialised modules reinforce important subject areas.

You will also develop important, lilfelong skills such as work autonomy and time management.

We encourage students to develop their own universe, experimenting with different artistic media and choosing the technique and conceptual framework for their work.

You will explore many possibilities and begin to define the specialties to you pursue Year 2.

Year 2

Choose your specialisation at of the beginning of the second year and begin to really engage in the creative process.

With three options available:

  • painting

  • illustration and comics,

  • new media

you will also continue to take the important core modules needed to form your artistic skills.

In this year you will begin developing good working habits that will be essential throughout your career as you become more independent and begin to manage your own time and work towards reaching your own goals.

Painting / Strip Cartoon Final year 

The final year is a key stage with two important academic and professional milestones.

Firstly, you will produce a dissertation that will be used for the press release that will accompany the exhibition of your graduation work and your portfolio.

Secondly, you will take a one-month internship in a company or with a professional artist. Alternatively, you can take a university exchange outside Switzerland. The EPAC partner network throughout a number of European and Asian universities provides you with this great opportunity to develop international experience, network and even consider continuing your studies abroad.

New Media Final Year

The final year is a key stage with two important academic and professional milestones.

Firstly, you will produce a dissertation that will be used for the press release that will accompany the exhibition of your graduation work and your portfolio. 

Secondly, the final year is dedicated to creating an artistic concept connected to your personality.

Your work will be followed by one or more teachers and you must demonstrate your skills by presenting your work to an external professional jury.
